Enjoy Folks
In the beginning there was a little girl who spent a lot of time in the kitchen with her beautiful mother. I watched and learned whether she realized it or not. Sometimes she followed a recipe, and others she added a dash here and there tasting as she went along. There were times I was thrilled to be there helping and times I would rather be anywhere other than stuck in that kitchen. Most of the time MASH, Scooby Doo, Little House on the Prairie or The Brady Bunch played in the background.
The most vivid memories are those of the holiday cooking. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, the 4th of July to name of few. From large meals that fed a crowd of hungry relatives or more intimate family traditions we baked, boiled, shaped and fried. Today I feel blessed as well as educated.
I try to feed my family healthy meals and will share with you a range of recipes that will range from good for you to those that are not so great. I try to alter recipes so that they might keep you alive a day or two longer. I will not promise that everything I post will light your fire, but hopefully I give you some great Ideas.
The one thing that I must confess is that I HATE coming up with daily dinner ideas (thus the name of the blog). I try to not get stuck in the rut of rotating the same dinners over and over again, but really who doesn't this happen to?
You might get lucky and see some pictures of the dishes, (wait till you see my fab counters from the 60's), or I might pirate a photo or two from some of the blogs that I happily follow (shhh..lets keep this between you and I). But, in all seriously don't get your hopes up for step by step photos.
Hold on to your socks folks because here we go. Enjoy!
